LECOM School of Pharmacy Post Baccalaureate Program
The LECOM School of Pharmacy Post Baccalaureate Program (Pharmacy
Postbac Program) is designed to attract
candidates at the national level, including non-traditional students
who will serve the continuing need for pharmacy practitioners. The
program will prepare qualified students for continuing studies
toward a Pharm. D degree at any accredited Pharmacy School. The
Pharmacy Postbac Program will introduce Pharmaceutical Sciences to
our students to assist educationally, prepare, and enhance their
Pharmaceutical Sciences knowledge.
All coursework within the Pharmacy Postbac Program curriculum is
presented on campus by LECOM Pharmacy and Medical school faculty.
The Postbac Program is a two-semester certificate
(non-degree) program.
Program Length: Two sixteen week semesters
Credits: 30 credits hours
Time: 5 pm-8 pm, Monday-Friday
Terms:
Fall Semester: September-December, 2007
Spring Semester: January-April, 2008
Tuition: $12,000

Admission Requirements (subject to change):
To be considered for admission to the Pharmacy Postbac Program, an
applicant must have:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Complete 8 semester hours in each of the following
courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a
4.0 scale: general biology, inorganic chemistry and organic
chemistry (each course must include a 2 semester hour
laboratory experience).
3. Complete 3 semester hours in each of the following
courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a
4.0 scale: physics, calculus, statistics, economics (macro
or micro), and psychology or sociology.
4. Complete 6 semester hours in the following course with a
minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale:
English
5. Complete 15 semester hours in the following courses with
a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale:
General Education Electives *
*General Education Electives in subject areas other than the above
prerequisites; such as humanities and social sciences.
Admission to the Pharmacy Postbac Program is conducted on a rolling
basis, with decisions made throughout the year. The program will
begin the first week of September 2007. Financial aid assistance is
available to students in the program through private and federal
loan programs. Applicants must complete the application, and submit
the required supporting documentation to LECOM by August 1, 2007.
Applicants with diverse ethnicity are encouraged to apply.
Upon successful completion of the one-year curriculum, the student
will receive a certificate acknowledging completion of all
coursework. While the Pharmacy Postbac Program does provide an
opportunity for the student to demonstrate academic capability, it
does not assure admission to any professional school. As such,
successful completion of the Pharmacy Postbac Program does not
guarantee admission to the LECOM School of Pharmacy or any other
Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Students may apply to the LECOM School of Pharmacy for admission
into the Doctor of Pharmacy Program upon satisfactory completion of
all admissions requirements and who apply through PHARMCAS.
